Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Linspire ("we", "our", "us") operates the Linspire platform at linspire.me. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our service.
By using Linspire, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text.
LinkedIn Profile Data
When you upload a LinkedIn PDF export, we extract and process your profile information — including your headline, summary, experience, education, and skills — to provide analysis recommendations. This data is stored in our database to enable features like profile history and content generation.
Generated Content
Content generated through our AI-powered tools (themes, ideas, posts) is stored in association with your account so you can access and manage it.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive payment information on our servers. We retain only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your plan.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the platform, including credit consumption and feature usage, to maintain the credit system and improve our service.
LinkedIn Account Data (via OAuth)
If you choose to connect your LinkedIn account, we collect:
- Your LinkedIn member ID and basic profile information (name, headline)
- OAuth access and refresh tokens, which are stored encrypted and used solely to publish posts on your behalf
We do not access your LinkedIn connections, messages, or feed content. If you disconnect your LinkedIn account, all stored tokens are deleted within 24 hours.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Linspire platform
- To process your LinkedIn profile through our AI analysis pipeline
- To generate personalized content recommendations and posts
- To manage your account, credits, and subscription
- To process payments through Stripe
- To communicate with you about your account or service changes
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Linspire:
- OpenAI / Anthropic — Your profile data is sent to AI language model providers to generate analysis, scores, and content recommendations. Data sent to these providers is subject to their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.
- Stripe — Handles all payment processing, subscription management, and billing. Your payment details are stored and processed by Stripe under their security standards (PCI DSS Level 1).
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Our infrastructure is hosted on AWS. Data is stored and processed within AWS data centers.
Important: LinkedIn member data obtained via OAuth (such as your name and member ID) is never sent to AI model providers. It is used solely for publishing posts to your LinkedIn account.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on secure infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
- Hashed passwords using bcrypt
- JWT-based authentication with configurable expiry
- Role-based access controls on all API endpoints
- OAuth tokens encrypted at rest using AES-256 — never exposed in logs, error responses, or client-facing API responses
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data and generated content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as maintaining financial records).
If you disconnect your LinkedIn account, OAuth tokens are deleted immediately. We may retain records of post content, publish timestamps, and publishing status for your reference, but no LinkedIn authentication credentials are kept after disconnection.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Request portability of your data
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address below.
LinkedIn Data: You can disconnect your LinkedIn account at any time from your account settings. Disconnecting immediately deletes your stored OAuth tokens and cancels any pending scheduled posts.
8. Cookies
Linspire uses local storage and session storage in your browser to maintain your authentication state and cache generated content for performance. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
Linspire is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above.
11. LinkedIn API Compliance
Data obtained through the LinkedIn API is handled in strict compliance with LinkedIn's API Terms of Use. Specifically, LinkedIn member data is:
- Used only to provide services directly to the authenticated user
- Never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own use
- Never used to train, fine-tune, or prompt AI or machine learning models
- Never combined with data from other sources to build profiles beyond what the user explicitly provides
- Deleted upon user request or account disconnection
